Quality Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join our rapidly expanding company.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent attention to detail and communication skills, to manage our quality team. We require a positive reactive approach to quality control and a keen, proactive involvement with quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

In addition to the company requirements regarding conduct and working ethic, your role and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead on the development and enforcement of the quality management system:  ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
  • Assist and contribute to new and existing ESG and ethical compliance membership schemes.
  • Develop and implement new quality control processes.
  • Manage the quality team effectively, in terms of leadership, motivation, support, training, resources and performance management.
  • Ensure incoming goods are controlled as required.
  • Supply trend analysis and general reporting for departmental quality meetings.
  • Investigate and report on products.
  • Monitor the internal quality incident and non-conformance reporting system for any trends.
  • Understand and manage customer expectations, also communicating customer requirements.
  • Ensure we comply to legal and safety standards.
  • Keep the quality department current with working practices and techniques.
  • Liaise with other managers ensuring training is achieving the correct quality standards.
  • Enhance communication and organisation within the quality department and collaborate positively with the management team.
  • Review working procedures with departments, checking they are current to the working practices.
  • Assist in the health and safety compliance of the company.
  • Encourage others to see the solution opportunity in problem solving.
  • Calibration, weights, and measures control.

You will be:

  • Qualified for the role: a minimum of two years’ experience in a senior Quality role for a manufacturing company.
  • Experienced in continuous improvement culture and achievement with proven ability to maintain accreditation to our integrated management system ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Experienced within the plastics industry (ideal but not essential).
  • A successful leader, with proven ability to motivate, train and develop others.
  • Able to manage your own time, plan your own workload and meet set targets and prioritise effectively.
  • Conscientious with a sharp eye for detail and a pride for delivering excellence consistently.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive in fault diagnosis and problem-solving, using initiative.
  • An excellent communicator, both internally but with customers and suppliers, forging strong positive relationships and leading by example.
  • Proficient in data analysis with proven reporting skills and statistical aptitude.
  • Honest, reliable and accountable.
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Able to pick up processes and operations effectively.
  • Motivated to learn new skills and keep abreast of industry changes.
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to embracing change as well as the ability to facilitate change.
  • Safety conscious and willing to lead by example.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Technical Director.

Role Vision

As the company grows, we require all departments to progress and develop.  You will manage and coordinate the activities required to meet the quality standards set for certain products or services. You will ensure that this quality is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. Statistical analysis and monitoring will become more important as departmental data becomes readily available creating a robust performance tool for continual improvement.
