Spectra has reported significant growth in a number of European countries as the company looks to expand export activities.

Trading in many European territories, including Belgium, Holland, France, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic and Poland, Spectra are supported by a number of overseas agents.

One such strong relationship is with Covera Packaging who are the Spectra’s Benelux agent based in Hoboken in Belgium.

Over the last 3 years, the two businesses have worked closely together to strengthen Spectra’s presence in Belguim, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, where the UK based manufacturer has seen growth of over 200%.

Gary Allard, Spectra’s Export Sales Representative said, “We have enjoyed success in the Benelux region thanks to Covera’s excellent continued support. Our impressive export figures owe much to our European partners who work tirelessly to help us gain footholds in a number of countries, we regard Covera as a true partner”.

The two companies started working together in 2014 when Covera looked to expand into the cosmetics sector. Spectra were able to provide products and industry expertise to help Covera make the transition into the highly competitive market.

Gary went on to say, “For nearly ten years Spectra has established itself as a leading supplier to the cosmetics, personal care and toiletries sectors to an impressive number of famous high street brands. The combination of Covera’s long-established standing in Europe and Spectra’s trusted cosmetic packaging expertise has proved a winning combination”.

In the past, the two companies have joined forces at European packaging shows with Spectra representatives offering support on Covera’s trade stand. The two firms will be co-operating again at this year’s Empack Mechelen show in Belgium in October.

Established in 1946 under the name of Comptoir Verrier Anversois, Covera supplied glass packaging to fish packers who found their way to the Antwerp Docks looking for suitable glass jars for their merchandise. Covera introduced plastic packaging to their ranges in the 1960s and have gone on to forge relationships and joint ventures with a number of important European manufacturers.

Frank Van Gestel from Covera said, “Our trusted partnerships are crucial to Covera’s continued success. Our relationship with Spectra enables us to offer a number of innovative solutions for customers and we both clearly enjoy working together”.
