Recycled Packaging

The use of Post Consumer Recycled plastics (PCR) is doubly good for the environment. PCR reuses plastic that would otherwise go into landfill and, when mixed with prime material, can be recycled again, giving continued sustainability.

Spectra manufacture from PCR PET and HDPE to the highest standards, meeting the needs of customers who are seeking a complete recycled packaging solution.

Recycled material is available to run from 25-100% of the mix, depending on application. With higher let downs, some colour variation can occur from batch to batch. A small number of inclusions are also possible and we recommend testing to ensure content compatibility. However, the substantial environmental benefits and Spectra's uncompromising commitment to quality in design and manufacture make PCR ideal for most of our customers and their consumers.

Great care is taken in sourcing material which meets our demands for quality and relevant regulations. Spectra PCR PET is sourced from Europe, meets European Food Contact regulations and has FDA approval. Spectra PCR HDPE is sourced from the UK and meets European Food Contact regulations.
