Spectra’s expansion plans have recently entered a new phase with the arrival of new machinery at their newly enlarged manufacturing facility.

During last year’s busy building programme the UK based converter invested heavily in new machinery in readiness for the new sites completion, which is now ready.

Joe Maynard, Managing Director at Spectra said, “These are incredibly exciting times for the company. Seeing the building work completed was massively satisfying, however, the arrival of new machinery shows how close we are to being up and running and operational”.

He added, “Customers have been incredibly supportive during a period of substantial growth as they have seen our long-term intent. Our aim has always been to satisfy customer demand, which is why we have made the brave decision to expand the business in order to meet that demand”.

The new machinery will service all manufacturing departments, including injection stretch blow moulding machines, extrusion blow moulding and injection moulding machines as well as additional machinery for Spectra’s busy dedicated print department.

Spectra’s ambitious expansion plans have seen them increase in size by another 50%, with the existing site growing an extra 24,000 sq. ft. to 80,000 sq. ft. in total. The company has also made provision for a further three units to accommodate further future growth.

Conversely, as the business expands, it is expected that Spectra will also continue to recruit new skilled staff, helping the local economy as the company continues to be a significant employer in the area.

Joe went on to say, “The company has grown and evolved incredibly in a relatively short period and this year is looking to be an important one for Spectra as we celebrate our tenth anniversary. As we continue to expand the business, investment in the latest up to date machinery and technology is hugely important. That said, we are also serious about investing in new and existing staff to ensure they have the resources and training to give customers the best service, quality and responsiveness".
